📖Title: The Wilds
✍️Author: Sarah Pearse
📆Pub date: July 16, 2024
🥾I love Sarah Pearse’s books because of how atmospheric they are! I typically struggle to visualize what I read, yet I can still clearly picture so many scenes from THE SANITORIUM, the first book in this series. In the same way, I had such an easy time picturing the national park in Portugal that was described beautifully in THE WILDS!
🌳(seriously Google Peneda-Gerês National Park)
📚ANYWAYS, yes this is book #3 in the Detective Elin Warner series, but can easily be read as a stand-alone!
🚙Kier Templer is living her best life on the road #vanlife as an escape for her CRAZY past. Her home life was traumatic to say the least. Her own mom is known all over as “The Monster” for her heinous crimes. Even through it all, her and her twin brother Penn have stayed very close, until she goes missing without a trace. Dun. Dun. Dun.
😱I LOVED the flashbacks about Kier’ and Penn’s life so much and thought the parts about their parents were SO CREEPY!
🥾When Detective Elin Warner becomes involved with the missing persons case for Kier, things get even more interesting. Warner has some issues herself (no surprise if you’ve read the previous books, lol) and everything starts coming to the surface at once!
🌳This journey was such a blast. I loved both of the sibling relationships between Kier and her brother and Elin and her brother! So easy to read. I couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommend!
❓Do you have an easy or hard time imagining scenes when you read?
