πHello friends! It’s been a while since I’ve posted my face on the grid, but @ladyalireadsalot took this fun picture of me on Saturday and I thought it would be the perfect time to share a little about how I got into #reading and #bookstagram
πI never read much for fun until Jan 2021. Prior to 2021, I read maybe a couple books a year and could not stand #audiobooks (because all I had really experienced were my husband’s STAR WARS audiobooks secondhand) π
πIn 2020, my younger sister read 60 books and just because I felt like being competitive, I decided to try and beat her π I made a @goodreads account, which really motivated me initially to set a goal and stick to it throughout the year!
π§I started reading books based on what my IRL friends were liking on #goodreads and kept adding to my #tbr (and never stopped). Once I discovered a love for audiobooks, everything changed!
πI got a new #librarycard, joined @libbyapp and @hoopladigital and from then on was never not reading something!
πIn the summer of 2021 I made a bookstagram account to track my reading, but never imagined how much fun it would be! I never expected to make real friends, read books prior to release, DM with famous authors, start a IRL #bookclub, etc. I am so grateful every day for all the ways this little book account has added fun and joy (and lots of books) to my real life!
πIf you’re on the fence about making a bookstagram, just do it! Read what you love and share what you think and just have fun!
βWho/what got you into reading?
