πTitle: Table for Two
βοΈAuthor: Amor Towles
π
Pub date: April 2, 2024
π½οΈThis is the third Amor Towles book that I’ve read and he always surprises in the best way. I’m very picky about historical fiction and even pickier about short stories and somehow these historical fiction short stories really worked for me!
πAmor’s writing is rich and deep and every time I read him I can’t help but think I’m reading a Charles Dickens book; they all feel like an instant classic.
π½οΈThe first half of the book is broken into 6 short stories called:
πThe Line
πThe Ballad of Timothy Touchett
πHasta Luego
πI Will Survive
πThe Bootlegger
πThe DiDomineco Fragment
π½οΈAnd the second half of the book is a novella called EVE IN HOLLYWOOD!
πOf all the short stories my favorite was HASTA LUEGO with THE BOOTLEGGER as a close second.
π½οΈBoth of those two short stories caught my attention instantly and made me feel connected to the unforgettable characters. Even when they made some not so great choices, I couldn’t help but find myself sympathizing with them.
πSince these stories are all so unique, I would expect everyone to have a different favorite, which makes it so fun! This would be a great idea for a bookclub pick or to read with a friend and break up into individual stories as starting/stopping points.
π½οΈI can’t wait to see/read what Amor Towles comes up with next!
