π§‘This one was so much more than I was expecting it to be! I’ve read a lot of missing girl trope thrillers lately, but this one was so unique and original!
π§‘This is my second book by Emiko. The first was MIKA IN REAL LIFE which is a YA women’s fiction vibe so to have her so successfully shake it up and drop an INCREDIBLE thriller is really admirable!
π§‘After Ellie has been missing for 3 years, she reappears out of nowhere without the answers detectives and family members are searching for. This story is told in multiple perspectives (the audio was a phenomenal full cast) which added a lot of depth and helped keep me locked into the story the whole time!
π§‘Little by little, readers are given flashbacks of what happened during Ellie’s missing years and some of it was HARD TO READ!
π€―The ending was surprising to me and a couple twists really had me shocked!
πOne part of this story was especially and specifically shocking to me. It’s spoilery so I won’t say, but once you read it, you’ll know if you know me what I’m talking about!
Read this if you’ve read and enjoyed:
πWhat Happened to Nina? by Dervla McTiernan
πThat’s Not my Name by Megan Lally
πThe Quiet Tenant by ClΓ©mence Michallon
πThe Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
π₯This one will be a huge hit as it was already announced to be a Book of the Month pick for May!!
