🥾🏕️BOOK REVIEW🏕️🥾

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

📖Title: The God of the Woods
✍️Author: Liz Moore
📆Pub Date: July 2, 2024

🏕️By now, I’m sure you’ve seen more than a few posts about this book. This was a Barnes & Noble Bookclub pick, Jimmy Fallon Bookclub Pick, a Book of the Month pick, etc. etc., but I’ll add to the noise by saying I think it’s DEFINITELY worth the read! This is exactly the type of book that I love: slow burn literary mysteries are my absolute JAM! Always a bonus when the setting is a summer camp, too! What more could you want?

📖This book is long (496 pages), but it never felt long because of the connection I felt to the characters and the beauty of the prose. Those two things were enough to carry me through the slower portions of the plot with ease!

🏕️Set at a summer camp in the Adirondacks in 1975, everything about this book was a perfect summer vibe! You know it’s going to be a winner when the first words are “the bed is empty!” Okay, Liz, you have my attention! A missing camper? But her family owns the summer camp? And her younger brother ALSO WENT MISSING 14 years ago in a similar way? Sign. Me. Up. ✍️🐻

🙌I loved how the story pivoted back and forth between different POVs, different time periods, different locations, etc.

🤯The ending still has me thinking. At first, I was like “WAIT, THAT’S IT?” But the more and more I think about it, the more and more I’m loving exactly how she did EVEYRTHING! I truly don’t think anyone will be disappointed after reading this book and highly recommend!

📚This is my first book by Liz Moore and now I plan to go back and read her whole backlist because I can already tell I’m going to love them all!
