πTitle: The Peculiar Gift of July
βοΈAuthor: Ashley Ream
π
Pub Date: July 1, 2025
π I really wanted to post this book with “July” in the title in JULY, but time got away from me! At least I read it in July π
πͺFirst of all, I have to say how adorable the cover is! It definitely drew me in! I could tell there would be some magical elements, and I’m always excited about that!
β¨Anita Odum is the local grocer in a small island town reachable only by ferry. Her quiet and predictable life is totally upended when she takes in her estranged cousin’s orphaned daughter, July. July has the perfect ability to just KNOW what everyone in the grocery store needs added to their cart π
πI’m a huge fan of women’s fiction and magical realism and this seemed like a nice blend of both! I absolutely loved July as a character and found her to be delightful from start to finish!
πͺThis story was heartwarming and very unique; I’ve never read anything quite like it!
πI do think it could have been a little more enjoyable had it been just a tad bit shorter, but overall, I’d still definitely recommend!
