🔆 After the way I ADORED The Bright Years, I knew Sarah could do no wrong and as SOON as I started reading The Burning Side, I instantly knew this would be another easy win for her. No sophomore slump detected!
🔥 I appreciated how quick the action/drama started in this one. There was no real introduction, etc. just BOOM a crisis right from the beginning and I was hooked. I don’t think I really ever stopped reading this one once I started because I was SO invested in April and Leo and also because things never really slowed down or took a break.
📖 I appreciated the multiple perspectives and think it helped to add dimension to the overall story.
❤️ I love when a book has me rooting for characters that I know are deeply flawed, even in spite of those flaws. I can’t say too much without giving anything away, but I think the whole story progression was done perfectly.
🔥If you’re looking for a book that will leave toh feeling a little more hopeful, let it be this one!
⭐ Easy, easy five stars. The only downside is having to wait all over again for another Sarah Damoff book!
